Governor Bill Lee Visits Summer Scholars
Governor Bill Lee stopped by Howard Elementary in Gallatin this afternoon. He was joined by other elected officials and Sumner County Schools administrators as he spoke with teachers and students. He visited multiple classrooms including English / Language Arts and STEM.
"Teachers and administrators are working really hard to serve these kids and we appreciate them, and we wanted to come out and look at a model of what's going on across the state in summer programming," Governor Bill Lee said.
Students asked the governor questions about the ins and outs of his job, his visit to the White House, and general questions about the working of the government.
He also paid tribute to HES retiring principal, Cindy Swafford, who has dedicated more than three decades of service to our community. Congratulations to Mrs. Swafford on her retirement!
