SCS Students Ace the ACT
Three Sumner County students earned a perfect 36 composite score on the ACT, the highest score possible that is achieved by fewer than half of 1% of students. Two of them achieved this accomplishment as juniors.
Sumner County Schools is proud to congratulate the following:
- Merrol Hyde Magnet Junior, Carson Cox
- Merrol Hyde Magnet Senior, Sophia Bricker
- Station Camp High Senior, Ryan Leacock

Ryan Leacock - SCH
Leacock earned his perfect score from the March exam while he was still a junior. He plans to pursue a career in computer science. Bricker earned her perfect score on the June test and plans to pursue a career in environmental engineering. Cox took the test in October and plans to pursue a career in finance and economics.
“Our students have earned a prestigious honor for themselves and their schools,” said Dr. Del Phillips, Director of Sumner County Schools. “This recognition is a culmination of their hard work and dedication. They are excellent ambassadors for Sumner County and we are excited to see what they accomplish in the future.
