Important Dates for Liberty Creek Students
February 10 - February 11: Liberty Creek High School administrators will host student meetings to discuss registration information and provide course catalogs. The meetings will take place at the student’s current high school. Students zoned for LCHS should not register with their current school.
February 15 - February 25: LCHS students will officially register for classes this week. Specific dates and times will be communicated by LCHS administrators in January. Registration will take place at the student’s current school and LCHS administrators and counselors will be in attendance to answer questions.
February 17 - February 24: Elementary, middle and high school administrators and staff will host community events to help answer questions and give students the opportunity to meet principals, staff and fellow students.

- Gallatin High School – February 23, 2022 at 6:30 p.m
- Station Camp High School - February 24, 2022 at 6:30 p.m
March 1 - March 11: Rising freshmen (current 8th graders) who will attend Liberty Creek next year will register at their current middle school. Specific dates and times for registration at the student’s current middle school will be communicated by LCHS administrators in January.
Liberty Creek lottery for out-of-zone applications
Students who wish to attend Liberty Creek High School out-of-zone during the 2022-23 school year will be selected by a random lottery. Beginning January 17, 2022, through February 4, 2022, Sumner County families may apply for this lottery on our district website HERE. The student must currently reside in Sumner County to be eligible for the lottery. Students will be selected by a random lottery on February 8th using the same vendor and process used to annually select students at Union Elementary STEM and Demonstration School. Students selected will be directly notified by the district.

On Tuesday, November 16th, our School Board approved the final zoning for the Liberty Creek schools. All students in the zoned areas will be required to attend their assigned school beginning with the 2022/23 school year. Rising seniors (current juniors) will be allowed to choose whether to stay at their current high school or attend Liberty Creek. All other students will be rezoned to Liberty Creek Schools.
Q: When will these new zoning lines take effect?
A: The new zoning will begin when the Liberty Creek schools open in the Fall of 2022.
Q: Will the Liberty Creek schools open on time?
A: Construction on all Liberty Creek schools is currently on schedule for each building to open in the fall of 2022.
Q: What are the start times for the Liberty Creek Schools?
A: With the final zoning now completed, our staff will now begin the bus routing process for the Liberty Creek Schools. School start times will be set and shared publicly once made. We anticipate that to occur in January.
Q: My student has been rezoned to Liberty Creek, but I would like to stay in my current zoned school. Can my student stay in their current zoned school?
A: Rising seniors (current juniors) will be allowed to choose whether to stay at their current high school or attend Liberty Creek. All other students will be rezoned to Liberty Creek Schools.
Q: I do not live in the rezoning area but would like my student to attend a Liberty Creek School. Will any Liberty Creek school be accepting out-of-zone requests?
A: Due to a recent change in state law, schools with available capacity for out-of-zone requests will use a lottery system instead of the prior zoning application process. Further information about how to apply for this lottery will be shared in January.
Q: When will my high school student register for classes?
A: All Liberty Creek schools will follow the same registration dates and timelines as other Sumner County schools.
Q: Will Liberty Creek High School offer the same classes as my current zoned school?
A: Liberty Creek High School will offer a full complement of high school courses including multiple AP courses and CTE opportunities. Further information regarding course offerings will be shared prior to high school registration.
Q: What sports will be available at Liberty Creek. When will tryouts be held?
A: All TSSAA sanctioned high school sports will be offered. Following TSSAA rules, tryouts will begin after the 21/22 school year has ended. Further information about athletics and TSSAA eligibility rules will be shared in the spring. All sports will be played at Liberty Creek next year.
Q: When will the staff/ coaches at the Liberty Creek Schools be announced?
A: The hiring process for Liberty Creek Schools will begin in January 2022. Staffing and coaching hires will be announced as they are finalized.
